Trunk or Treat!

Happy Halloween!

We do Trunk or Treat at our church...we line up cars, decorate them, and pass out candy and information about how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

My friend Jen and I decided a while ago that we would dress Sawyer and Aidan up like Twist and Shout from Fresh Beat Band...and then we decided we'd dress up like Marina and Kiki! I think our homemade costumes turned out awesome, and Ward made the boys some awesome props!

I don't mean to brag, but our boys stole the show! Everyone loved it! They were SO cute. Ward played a Fresh Beat Band cd in his truck and we set up the props for Sawyer and Aidan. They danced and sang and put on a show for the trick or treaters!

Marina and Twist!

He LOOOVES his turn table!

Going through the line to get candy. He would say,
"Tick Teat...I be Twist!"

Look at the awesome props Ward made!

Sawyer's Sayings and Doings

For the longest time, right before Sawyer went to bed, Lance would give him a horsey back ride to his room. Recently, he's been wanting me to give him a piggy back ride and he always says, "Daddy gonna get us?" and then starts laughing HYSTERICALLY when Lance "gets him!"

As soon as Lance walked in the door after work:
Sawyer: Hi Dada...we're hungy!

Sawyer was standing in a chair at my parent's house:
Me: Sawyer, you're gonna break your neck.
Sawyer: No wanna breaka my neck. No wanna breaka my neck.

While laying in bed with Sawyer who was not even THINKING about going to sleep:
Me: Sawyer, lay down.
Sawyer: No lay down, mama. No say it!

Me: Sawyer, be still.
Sawyer: No be still. No say it.

Me: Sawyer, go to sleep.
Swayer: No go to sleep. No say it, mama.

My mom told Sawyer to give some cat treats to "Mommy" (the name of one of her cats). He walked right up to me and said "Here go, mama!"

Sawyer was jumping around on the couch:
Me: Sawyer, be careful. You're gonna break your neck.

Sawyer: No wanna breaka my neck.
Me: Where is your neck?
Sawyer: Mush's house!

At the grocery store holding a cucumber:
Sawyer: Hi...this is Larry Cumber (Larry the Cucumber from Veggie Tales..he said this to EVERY person we saw!)

Playing outside under the carport with his car (and trying to drive it down the driveway):
Me: Sawyer, we need to stay under the carport. We can't go to the road. A car might hurt us.
Sawyer: No want cars to hurts us. (And now, every time he sees a car he says this!)

Halloween Preview!

For Halloween, Sawyer is going to be "Twist" from Fresh Beat Band. We do Trunk or Treat at church on Halloween, so we decorate our cars and the area around it as well as dress up. Our friend, Ward, made Sawyer this precious turn table to use! Sawyer is totally in love!

Here he is "singing."

Slide

Our friends gave us this little slide that their boys had outgrown. It's a perfect size to bring inside when it's cold or rainy out. Sawyer has really enjoyed it and I caught him on camera sliding with his chipmunks. I think the way he says "Theodore" is adorable.

Good Water

I walked in the living room and found Sawyer standing on his potty licking the door. "Sawyer, what are you doing, I asked." He said, "I eat water...it good water!"

Mush and Papa's

We spent Friday night and Saturday with my parents...we're so thankful that we're able to go "home" a couple times a month to see them!

Friday night we gave Mimi her birthday present...an "impossible puzzle." She and Papa worked on it for a long time while Sawyer worked on one of his new puzzles from Mush and Papa.

Mama found the cutest puzzles at the
Dollar Store. They're awesome quality!
We went back Saturday and got more!

Sawyer ALWAYS takes a bubble bath at Mush and  Papa's
Saturday morning Sawyer helped Mush do chores...he fed the animals and got them fresh water. He LOVES chores at Mush's house!

Riding a stuffed dog!

None of us got much sleep Friday night. Sawyer was too wound up to fall asleep and woke up early Saturday morning. He fell asleep in the car on our way back to Reidsville Saturdday afternoon and we decided to let him sleep a couple hours when we got home. Well, those couple hours went by and he did NOT want to wake up. We finally got him to wake up by taking him outside and letting him play on his "new" slide.

On the floor..."no wanna wake up!"

Just so I remember...Bouncer licked Sawyer on the face and Sawyer's face broke out immediately...poor guy got his mama's animal allergies I guess. But he thought it was SO funny when Bouncer was licking him!

Uncle Brent

We're blessed with siblings who really adore our kid. Uncle Brent came and spent some time with us and Sawyer had a great time jumping on him, tackling him, etc! They make me laugh!

Aidan got in on attacking Uncle Brent!

Presh!

Pumpkin Carving and Football

Tonight we carved Sawyer's little pumpkin that he picked out at the road-side pumpkin patch.

He told me he wanted a "happy pumpkin" like the one we had seen on Bubble Guppies, so that's what I drew on his pumpkin.

Sawyer was fine with taking the top off, but one touch of the pumpkin guts and he was done. "Ew wuck, he said!"

He pulled one seed out...ew wuck, then done!

So, I cleaned and carved the pumpkin while Sawyer and Lance played football. Our house backs up to an elementary school and we could hear a football practice going on. Sawyer will now pick up a football and say, "Down, set, hut!"

LOOOVE!

Our "happy pumpkin"

Happy Pastor Appreciation Month!

Happy Pastor Appreciation Month to my favorite pastor....my hubby!

I am so proud to be your wife and helper in life. I am proud that during our senior year of college, you accepted God's call for your life and followed it without question. I am proud of your boldness when you preach the word of God. I am proud that you are unwavering in what you believe. I am proud that you stand firm on the truths of the Bible when many other pastors today twist the Bible to be "politically correct." I am proud of how you lead your youth...their love for you is so evident. I am proud of how hard you work to serve our church and to provide for your family. I am proud, most of all, that you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and lead me and Sawyer to do the same.

Sawyer and I are so blessed to call you ours! We love you!!

My parents...

This is what Sawyer and I woke up to Monday morning at my parents house:

A book for Sawyer, and apple cider for me!!!

I think my dad will forever call Sawyer, DeDe!

A note from Mush!

We love going to Mush and Papa's!

Millstone Creek

I FINALLY got to take Sawyer to a real pumpkin patch. Sunday after church Sawyer and I headed to Asheboro and Mush and Papa took us to a cute farm in Ramseur. They had the most amazing apple cider slushies, homemade jams and local honey, tire swings, a hay ride, and best of all...a REAL, pick-your-own pumpkin patch!

Papa and Sawyer sang songs all the way to the farm!

Apple Cider Slushie!!

This kid never walks anywhere...he just
RUNS!

Tire Swing

His first step into the pumpkin patch he
fell right into a rotted pumpkin! LOL!

About every 2 steps in the pumpkin patch
ended like this!

Hay ride!

We will definitely be going back here next year. Everyone was so friendly, there was plenty to do and plenty of space to run! Thanks Mush and Papa for taking us!!
