Toddler Choir

My friend, Amy, and I have started a Toddler Choir at church, and are also leading the Children's Choir. Last night was Sawyer's first time since he was sick last week when it started. I had prepared myself for the worst, and that's exactly what we got...for about one minute. When all the kids started singing and dancing, he got scared and cried, but when he saw how much fun they were having, he stopped crying and started laughing hysterically.

He ended up having a BLAST!! I didn't get any pictures because we were WAY too busy trying to corral 2 and 3 year olds...I'll have to get one of the parents to take pics next time.

Sawyer doesn't "sing" yet, but he will imitate some of the sounds. He really liked marching in a circle, though he marched in his own circle in the middle of the circle the other kids were marching in! He was super excited when we got the instruments out. He got the bells and did not want to give them up.

I was very impressed with the way he obeyed me and Amy, sitting when he was told to sit, standing where he was told to stand, staying on the carpet and not running off to play with toys, folding his hands together during prayer time, etc. I think this is going to be very good for him since he's not in a "classroom" setting during the day. It's always good to be around other kids, especially older ones (he's the youngest in choir).

We're teaching them very basic bible songs, and scripture set to music. I'm so excited about this ministry!!!
