Pray

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."  - 1 Thessalonians 5:17

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in trubulation, be constant in prayer." - Romans 12:12

Praying before lunch.
It is our prayer that Sawyer would know how to talk to God at an early age. We practice this many times a day...when we eat, when we hear that someone is sick or needs help, when we have bad attitudes (yes, we even pray for mommy's attitude!), when we're having a hard time sharing or being a good friend, when we go to sleep, when we're thankful, when we need grace and forgiveness...the Word tells us to "pray without ceasing, be constant in prayer" and though we fail miserably every.single.day to follow that command, we try.

We want Sawyer to know that God cares about the tiniest details of our life.
We want him to know that everything we have comes from God and he is worthy of our praise and our thanksgiving.
We want him to know that even in the valleys, God is there...alive and active in his life.
We want him to know that in sweet times of communion with God, God convicts our hearts.
We want him to know that prayer is powerful.

Being a mommy has completely changed my prayer life and has also shown me how sinful a little child's heart can be, and that I can't save him from that...only God can. I long for Sawyer to know God intimately, to live his life for Him, to be in this world, but not of this world...and, so, I pray...constantly...that my sweet little boy will realize that the sin in his heart separates him from God, and that he is in desperate need of a Savior.

So, we pray and we preach the gospel, and we ask God to convict his little heart.
