My parents, whom Sawyer calls "Papa and Mush," bought Sawyer some play doh for Christmas. He LOVES it and I love the amount of time he'll sit and play with it, but the store bought stuff dries out so fast and just isn't fun to play with after a few days.
When I taught preschool in Raleigh, I found a great recipe that is made from stuff you have in your pantry and it doesn't dry out nearly as quickly! So, today, mommy and Sawyer made play doh while Aidan napped (Aidan is the little boy I keep during the week)!
Sawyer stirred the dry ingredients...
I added the wet ingredients and put the pot on the stove, where Sawyer stirred some more.....
Take it off the heat and let it cool, and there you have it...homemade play doh!

I added some food coloring and put the play doh in baby food containers!
Sawyer is at such a fun age, where I can start doing art and crafty things with him...so exciting!
