Sawyer's Sayings....and Doings....

Today, Sawyer tooted, looked at me, and said, "Eeeewww, poot!"

We were listening to "Awesome is the Lord, Most High" in the car and everytime the chorus came on he'd lift his hands and say "AWESOME!" (He may or may not have seen mama rocking out to praise songs in the car!)

At the doctor's office today, the doctor told him goodbye and he looked at her and said, "Bye bye doctor!"

When we're watching tv...
Sawyer: "Mama, what next?"

Stef: "I don't know. What do you think is next?"
Sawyer: "Ummmmmmm.......Gabba"

After he's been disciplined and we've had our heart to heart chat he says (and signs) "Sorry, mama." MELT.MY.HEART.

Lots of times he'll bring me some paper and crayons and say, "Mama, draw ___." (Most of the time it's a Yo Gabba Gabba character.

If he wants to be alone in his room, he'll say "In there, Mama" and point to the door.

We were driving to church Sunday and I looked in my mirror and said, "I see Sawyer." He replied "I see Mama." We played this game the entire way to church and he was laughing like crazy.

Sawyer's Sayings....and Doings!

Yesterday when Lance called to see how our day was going, I let Sawyer answer the phone. He said, "Hi Dada, what doin'?!"

I found some glow sticks while cleaning out some toys...Sawyer used them as drumsticks, pretended they were crayons...and then put it in his mouth and said "pah (popsicle)....mmmm...goooood!"

I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred (lake in 2 weeks!) and Sawyer has been doing it with me. When I do push ups he lays on his belly and lifts his head up and down. He saw me using my hand weights and he went and got two small baseball bats and did the exercises I was doing! He especially likes to do the punching exercise and jumping jacks! It's SO funny!

He's really enunciating his "k" sound....so he'll say "book...k....k..." and "milk...k...k!"

I always kiss his boo boo's and say "all better" and this morning he saw a bruise on my leg and said "kiss (and then kissed my bruise).....all better!"

Sandbox

One afternoon, instead of napping, we went outside and Sawyer played in the sandbox while I snapped some pictures.

Happy Father's Day!!

I'm playing catch-up on the blog...

For Father's Day I told Lance to go to Lowe's and get whatever he wanted...I think he got some kind of fancy drill! Sawyer and I also picked out some of his favorite treats for him:

Sawyer is so lucky to have Lance as his daddy!

I love that Sawyer will grow up having a godly father and role model!

We love you!!!

And, I can't leave out my daddy, who is the most awesome daddy EVER!! Every little girl should have a daddy like mine!

I read a quote the other day that said something like "The only thing better than having you as my daddy is my son having you as his Papa!" SO TRUE!!!

I love you, Daddy!

Water Baby

Friday we headed to the lake for a short overnight visit. Lance is taking the youth there for a "mystery trip" on Wednesday, so we just wanted to make sure everything was ready for them! We also picked up a paddle boat that my MIL just bought and took it down with us!

Saturday morning Lance did a little yard work and then we headed for the water! We tried out the paddle boat....I think Lance and I liked it a little more than Sawyer. He wanted to jump in the water the whole time!

When we finally let Sawyer get in the water, he had a blast. He is such a water baby!! He loved standing on the bank and running into the water. He would also stand in the shallow water and say "1, 2, 3, 4, SPLASH!" and jump up and land on his little bottom! With the new floatie that I got him he I could let him be free in the water and it held him up great! I think he liked the independence and I'm so glad that he's not afraid of the water! He didn't mind his face getting wet or going under. He had SO much fun. I'm SO looking forward to our vacation in a couple of weeks...we'll be swimming everyday!

"One, Two, Three, Four, SPLASH!"

Drawing

Sawyer is becoming more and more interested in "coloring/writing/drawing." I bought him a little red notebook that looks kind of like the "Blue's Clues" notebook. He will sit down on the couch or at the table and color. He'll often ask me to draw something for him. Today he was drawing and he brought the notebook over to me and told me that he drew a car....not too bad if you ask me!

The one on top is "DJ Lance Rock" from
"Yo Gabba Gabba!" The drawing on
the bottom is a car!

"Where Dee Dee?!"

That's what he was saying with his shirt up over his head....I love this kid!

Typical 2 Year Old!

Last night Sawyer got all his DVD's out and started lining them up....such a typical 2 year old thing to do! After he lined them up he jumped over them as if he was doing some kind of athletic drill. So cute.

Sandbox!

A few posts back Sawyer was playing in the sandbox at my Maw-Maw's house...leave it to my parents to bring a sandbox to our house! My daddy and Lance built it while my mom and I played with Sawyer. I love that Sawyer has something handmade from his Papa and his daddy...so special!

Lance and Papa sawing some boards

Trying to get a good picture...sigh....

He wanted to dump water on his head

After he dumped water on his head....without warning,
he looked at me and said "Mama's head!" and dumped
water all over me....silly boy!

Mush adding the sand and Papa adding
the seats! Sawyer had the hardest
time trying to figure out how to sit on them.

Showing him how to bury his feet

Burying his feet

"There they are!"

Thank you, Mush and Papa for an awesome sandbox! We're looking forward to many summer days spent building sandcastles, burying treasures, and driving our trucks!

Tea Party!

My Sunday School teacher and I hosted a tea party for my friend, Jen, to celebrate her earning her Master's degree! We had 7 ladies from our Sunday School class over and we just chatted and enjoyed a couple hours without all our little ones around! Unfortunately I forgot to get a pic of all the ladies, but I have a couple of all the yummies that we made! We ended up making 5 different tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, fruit salad, deviled eggs, some heavenly strawberry bruschetta, and of course, tea!

Scones and Eclairs!

Tea Sandwiches, Fruit, Deviled Eggs

Strawberry Bruschetta....heavenly!!
I LOVE entertaining....and I especially love entertaining my lovely SS girls. A girl couldn't ask for better friends!

Play Date!

My friend, Sarah, brought her two little ones over to play today...well, only one played as her youngest is 9 weeks old! We broke out the water table and the boys had a ball!

Sawyer and Aidan eating cheese and waiting patiently
for Sarah, Matthew, and Samuel to get to the house!

Matthew and Sawyer! Matthew is about a
year and a half older than Sawyer, but is
so sweet to him and plays SO well with him!

This is the only picture I got of Sarah and
Samuel...she was multitasking...blowing
bubbles and feeding the baby!

After we got them inside, I decided it would be a great idea
to put them in the bath together....it was a great idea in that
they had a blast, but it was a chore bathing them, getting
them out, getting clothes on! This is the best pic I have that
I can put on the blog, if you know what I mean!

I'm so thankful for the support system I have through all my Sunday School friends. There are about 13 couples that we've gotten pretty close to and between all of us we have about 20 kiddos! Almost all of us ladies are stay-at-home moms and it's such a blessing to be able to walk through this season of life with people who are going through the exact same trials I am. It's nice to bounce ideas off each other and have people who can help you out when you need an extra pair of hands or you're at your wits end with your 2 year old telling you "no!" and you really need some encouragement. I'm so, so grateful!!

Rainy Day Entertainment!

Drums...

New place to watch tv...

And a new place to eat supper...

Tuesday Morning and a Boo Boo

Tuesday it was so nice outside so we spent some time under the carport (it was too chilly to go out back and play in the water) playing and enjoying the cooler temps!

The boys eating lunch!

We watched this mommy bird bring food to her babies!
The boys loved it!

Coloring after he made me draw all the
Gabba Gabbas!

Playing drums on his ball

Buckling his helmet!

Telling me the letters on my car!

I think this is his frist "boo boo" that needed
a band-aid...just a scratch, but it was
bleeding and needed to be covered.
After he got the green band-aid,
he became one of those kids that found
"boo boo's" for the sake of getting
another band-aid!
